Default What tires for 18x8?

I just scored a set of 18x8 Aristos on Ebay and I am wondering what the best tire size for these would be. I came up with either 225/40/18 or 215/40/18 as being the closest matches to the stock profile.

Any suggestions for the tires? I am thinking of either Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S or Falken FK-452's.

Haven't seen ur NB, but go at least 225's. Go to www.tirerack.com and look at the comparisons. Goodyear Eagle F-1's are 1st, Michelin PS2's are 2nd and so on. They get a medium rating, but I DO like the red lettering on the Pirelli's.

If I am looking at the site right, those Eagle F1's are for summer only and they cost 300 a tire?

My personal choice for a summer only tire is the Kumho SPT in the 225/40 18 size. If you want a great year round tire check out the Kumho Ecsta ASX for only $82 a tire. It's a screaming deal. Heck they are good enough that I might just spoon em on anyways even if you don't need an allseason tire.

I am probably going to get the Pirelli 225/40/18. They are 140 at Tirerack and are ranked number 2 in all season.

One more question, are these the lugs I would need to use with these wheels?

These are standard lugs, so I should still get locks, right?

I bought the Pirelli's today. The tires and wheels are both supposed to ship today. I had to buy some OEM lugs as I am currently running on aftermarket wheels and the tire place I bought the wheels from never gave me back the OEM lugs. This was three years ago so I never thought about it.

I also got a set of the caps that have Volkswagen imprinted into them. I should be rolling on 18's next week

+1 on Kumho SPTs! I can't believe how much better they are than stock Michelins that came with my TS. Even though I went with bigger wheel and shorter profile tire, the ride actually improved. And the performance of these tires is insane in both dry and wet. Highly recommeneded!

I took my own advice and bought 235/35 19 Kumho Ecsta SPT's and OMG..... The ride is fantastic. My 19s now ride smoother than my 16's do. My ride was rough and jouncy with my 18's but now, well... Its smooooooooooooooth.

I could not be happier

Apex club sport. It's a European only brand. Extremly High Quality just very hard to find in the USA. I love it though. Nice drop, nice ride and holding up extremly well.
