In the "Steering Spokes How-to" it mentions, "Slide the blade as far you can and gently pry apart."
Where do you slide in the screwdriver? Do you try to break the seam/weld right where it joins, or do you do something different?
I'm having zero results at trying to do this...I can see the seams, but can't get anything in between them. They're so tight they could be drawn on as far as I can tell,
Thanks.

I yanked off the worn out plastic spokes, and installed these metal Turbo S spokes, and I an very glad I did.

Please tell me more about the yanking process, Dnyed...That's what I'm wanting to know more about. The screwdriver method isn't working...
Did you have the leather steering wheel already?

I used a screwdriver to create a space, then snips to cut them off. They are just plastic, and who cares what you do to get them off. They were garbage. And, yes, my steering wheel cover is leather wrapped already.

Did you need to tap the screwdriver with a hammer or anything? Like I said, I got nowhere trying the other day. Is there any danger of deploying the airbag with too much force?
Thank you.

Never thought about that. I pried from the outside in. Didn't really touch the airbag/center area at all. They are in two pieces, and are held together by a single screw each.

Hmm. I don't see a screw on the plastic spokes. The Turbo S ones have a hex screw,, though.

Maybe it was the TS ones I was thinking about. I now don't recall what was holding the plastic ones together, it was a pretty destructive session....

Default Success!

Success! Thank you so much Dyned. I re-read one of your earlier posts, and "I pried from the outside in" jumped out at me.
After I saw that, the first plastic spoke was off within a minute, followed closely by the others.
Thank you.

Yup, plastic ones just get pried off. Basically have to break the plastic rivets in the middle. Turbo S spokes really are a great addition to the NB. I found mine at a local junkyard and got them for free (I didn't steal them I swear!). Loved them. Made sure I took them off after the accident. MORAV got them I believe later on.
