Default Fabric for Headliner - How much?

Does anyone know how to figure out how much fabric I would need to re-do my headliner?

I am going to do mine in black micro-suede but I have no idea how to measure it? I guess I can get an old sheet and just kinda do it that way. Then take the cut sheet into the fabric store?

That would work. I am going to remove the fabric and backer board and take the board to my seamster man and have him do all the dirty work. He can glue and dew the black vinyl into place for me, I'm looking to do it for sub-$150 if I can, but still have it look nice.

Call JD - he has tweeded two headliners... a turboS and a '98.

We did my friends GTI headliner about 2 weeks ago:

It was actually a lot easier than we though.
