Although it can be done, and it is, I do not recommend the use of adapters or bolt-on spacers on the track. Lots of stresses going on and I personally would feel more confident knowing that there is nothing between the wheel and the hub.

IMO, find a lightweight 17x8" wheel in 5x100 and run the stickiest rubber you can afford on them.

In addition, modern Porsche wheels are actually pretty heavy in comparison to what the aftermarket can provide. On the track you want the lightest and widest wheel (without becoming too wide that the tire won't heat up properly) you can fit while being just big enough to fit your brakes under. Big doesn't mean best.

Milla Migilia makes a knock-off. Fits the beetle and still get the look, w/no spacers.

And they're heavy as heck. Street wheel, yes. Track? Not for me.

But they do make them. Rather, they made them. They are out of production.

I wonder how heavy the hollow-spoke 18's are.
