You can totally do this yourself Zack!

I get all my spray paint from PaintScratch.com. I also get their clear coat because I've found that it works better than the cheap stuff you get at home improvement stores and the it keeps your color consistent if you are planning on any other painting.

The spray cans are the way to go, but if you go check your local home improvement store, in the paint aisle, you should be able to find a little $5.00 attachment that hooks on the can and turns it into a mini pro sprayer for you. It really helps with the application.....

Hope all this helps! Good luck and post pics when you are done!

Psst...here is a pic of the sprayer on my thread..........it's the bomb....and crap, it took me like 3 mintues to find it in there...my thread's a labrynth lol

Haha! I just pm'ed you! I think I spent roughly $45 for one can of clear coat, one can of color matched paint and shipping. They go a long way though. I'm sure that there are other places people can suggest, but I was always really happy with the quality of the paint and the customer service from Paintscratch, so I stuck with them.

But if you want to get really fancy you can always order some from VW too!!

Psstt....I will be painting my eyelids next week too! YAY!!!!!!!!

Lacquer is way more resistant to gasoline being on it....not that your gonna get gas on your eyelids, also its a fast drying paint and is what all custom paint jobs are done with unless their done in Imron which is mixed with a catalyst like fiberglass resin is.

Regular car paint is lacquer. trucks are usually enamel. at least thats the way it used to be.

Polyurethane and shellac is for wood, along with tung oil and stain.
also never put lacquer over enamel as the lacquer is much stronger and will lift the enamel off like paint stripper.

just as much as any other paint. plus the lacquer will be dry in ten minutes where the enamel will take days to harden fully. because the thinner evaporates at a much faster pace.

it cost me like $15.00 a can and yes you can get it in a spray can mixed to your cars paint code for a perfect match. you'll need some clear to go over it though. they dont usually put the clear into the paint can because it would take up space therefore you'll get more paint for your money.

you'll never get vinyl to wrap around THOSE eyelids.
unless what your saying Sarah is that he should just put vinyl Eyelids on his car?
