It's kinda possible. But wouldn't really finish w/the same niceness.

Have you looked into simple "shaving" the badge? Remove it, smooth/fill the metal and paint to match the body.

After all, it's very obviously a vw, does it even need a shiny badge?

Just a thought...

Nope.
The front emblem is curved to match the contour of the engine hood.
The rear emblem is not curved and sits flat on the rear decklid.
Nice try but it won't work.

KH, visit greenbug.org and check out Brian's part number list. It might be shown there.

He only lists Euro (blue/white) badge part numbers.

U hafta use a rear badge, u can get one here: http://www.parts4vws.com/catalog/pro...=1C0853630L39A

I carefully yanked my flat badge off with needle nose pliers, it wasn't easy, then glued a pre-'02 3-D badge right on top of the mechanism. BTW, I'm not recommending u do it, as u might damage something, I'm just telling u that I was able to do it.

IIRC, once u manage to pull a corner up and start to pull up on the badge, eventually u get to the part where the key hole opening attaches to the inside of the badge and that's where it gets ugly. I think at that point I switched to a larger set of pliers to wiggle it off, then used a ballpeen hammer to flatten any metal stuff sticking up.

ARGH! <-- heh.

I ordered a back and front blue and white emblem for Zoomer (a 2003.5 hard top) and the dealer didnt tell me that the rear wouldn't work - they ordered a swivel badge that doesn't fit my non swiveling rear. 0_o ... so, does anyone know where I can get one to match my already installed front? 0_o ... ARGH!

(sorry for the argh's but Zoomer is like wearing a green shirt with polka dots and pants that are plaid).
