Wow. That is ... red! :P I like the 2nd one better. Nice balance.

Ok, constructive criticism: The first one is not so good because it is very monotonous. It would be very "boring" to sit in that car.

The second one is better, but I think what ruins it for me is the mixture of black, beige, red and the chrome accents.

Idk... I think red is just not neutral enough of a color for a majority of the interior. Maybe majority black, and then use the red as an accent.

All-red interiors make me slightly nauseous. I don't care what car they come from.

I think the major difference between that Porsche interior and the Beetles' is that the Porsche is all wrapped in red leather. Our Beetle has that plastic crap that has to be removed to paint it, which then makes it all hard touch plastic... somewhat from the decade of decadence.

However, if you DO do it, and it comes out well, post up a pic! I'd love to be proven wrong!

Maybe I'm weird, but I actually like the all-red one. I would just want to be very, very careful about the particular shade of red. The slightly ruby/crimson/wine sort of color in your photoshopped Beetle interiors looks great, but a primary red or orange-y hue would look absolutely horrible IMHO.

Also, I think the all-red interior would only look good in a Beetle whose exterior is not red, or any other color really: only black, white, gray, or silver.

Finally, I'm never a big fan of painting the center part of the dash, unless you paint the radio faceplate to match. It's the details that make or break the design. (And on that note, how do you intend to color the netting in the door panels?)

Here's a NB with something similar going on, but it's done properly:

If you expect to get good results out of a can you'll be very disappointed.

I don't remember where I saved that pic from. Maybe someone will chime in.

Regardless it's all red leather, so that's probably the only way you could pull it off.

Plus there are black and silver accents that sort of break it up. With almost every single piece being red...I think it's a little overkill, imo.

The first one makes me think I'm drowning in the '70s. Too much red.
