Default Chrome or No-Chrome on Tornado Red?

Trying to decide on wheels to buy next summer.

I like fat 5-spokes, wife likes the mesh and multi-spoke styles.

I like something with a deep lip, wife likes wheels that are flush.

I want silver, wife wants chrome.

I'm not sure about chrome on Tornado red in the first place. I don't want my bug to look like bling.

Anyway, so far the only wheel we've agreed on are DeCorsa Polaris 5's. It's the only 5-spoke she likes. She wants chrome. I'm not sold on chrome. I'm just afraid it'll be too over the top for me, especially on that wheel.

Send me a couple nice side shots ( like dead on from the side ) and a couple angled shots of your Beetle and I will Photoshop the wheels on so you can see what they look like

It's the Tornado Red that should get most of the attention....

I'm not in any way connected with them, but Tire Rack has a feature that shows your
selected wheels on your car. It's not perfect but it is an aid.

Those wheels fail badly.

The best place to by wheels is the VWVortex wheel classifieds. I've bought 2 sets on there and I've always had great sellers.

Considering that tires have almost no resale value, you can't go wrong with used prices.

Yep, been watching the vortex also.

Most of the 'tex seems to be GTI's with deep dish mesh wheels. While I like them on the GTI's, I'm not sold with them on the Beetle.

Of all the wheels on bugs I've looked at the last couple weeks, the pic below is my favorite. These are bigger than I want to go though, so not sure what they'd look like in 18 or maybe 19.

Actually, the biggest problem I have right now is everything has to get the wifey seal of approval since the car is half hers

Just say no to chrome.

It's a Volkswagen, not a Cadillac or a Chrysler.

Polished aluminum, yes. Chrome, no.

Chrome has it's place even on NB's and easier to manage than polished. Would look great on a Tornado Red NB.

Polished aluminum is by far the best look.

I have polished and beware they take considerable care to look
sharp all the time. I spend more time on my rims than any other
part of my bug. but hey, they look good.

Brake dust is the culprit, maybe I should look into ceramic pads!
Just my 2 cents.
