IIRC the dead pedal was made by an org member back a while ago and is no longer available.

Other than that, pedals available on ecs, at dealer, wrecker, etc.

Wow, thanks for the great feed back but we are getting off the track sort of.

Really no lie, do a search. Many people have painted interior pieces so there are quite a few threads on it. Since we all have our own ideas it's good to see what others have done. Methods vary a bit, but you will find the same theme most of the time if you are doing it yourself. Take your time, make it smooth, light, light, light coats of paint. Take your time, don't get in a hurry. You want it good, you want to be able to live with it every day. Make sure you give it time to dry before you put it back in. oh did I mention take your time. I want to let mine be in the car for at least a month before I wax it just to be sure.

off topic, my TT pedals came from Bugstuff. He is a member but I am not sure if his web site is up or he is selling totally on Ebay. As OldSkoolVWLover said the Dead Pedal used to made by a guy here, just had to be there at the right time to get one. I do believe though that someone was trying to revive it, Sahm maybe?

So here's a pic with the heater rings on and the shift plate and surround. Too Much Bling? I just stuck them on there to see. hmmmm... I am hoping to be able to switch the lower dash pieces out to black eventually and I am looking into a way to change out the Tip shifter.

Paint the lowers... just use a satin or flat black.

Trust me it's doable. I have color changed damn near everything in the wifes car. Everything except the lowers... the center console got a gloss black if/when the lowers get done they will go satin black to match the door cards and the headliner trim pieces. Everything from the belt line up that was plastic has been painted black in the wifes car. Then used fabric dye on the cloth door rubbers to get them black.

It looks good and I am still happy I did it, even if knowbody notices it.

Ohh yeah and you aren't having fun until you get to a point where you think the car may never go back together again.

Hate to necro an old thread but I'm on my lunch break and don't have time to search everything or start a new thread. I'm getting ready to paint the center of my dash satin black, and am wondering if y'all think that enamel or latex would be better. I don't even know if they make satin black spray latex or not, I'm just wondering how well the enamel.will wear. (Plus thats what i have left over from repainting an old beer sign.) I'm also considering doing all of the rubber coated plastic, including the upper and defrost vent areas of the dash. I've found a great way to derubberize them too. You sand it with 400 grit until its sticky, then it'll scrub off with paper towels and goo gone. (Just for future reference to others looking to do the same)
