Think this is the right area? LOL

I recently bought a vintage horn to put in HJ... and it's giving me fits!
I WAS trying to do it without hubbys help... but that didn't work out. LOL Had to rewire it and all... stuff I've never attempted before... so was afraid I'd mess something up.

Now... the original bolt is strip (o.O Wilky!!!) and the two replacements are giving me fits.

Grrr... I just want my Herbie horn!

Hmmm, did you get yours from TVA?? They could answer your questions if no one here can. I ordered one from them and my dealer installed it for me. I didn't want to mess it up. They said they had to do a little improvising because of the male-female connectors. They also thought it was funny that I wanted a Herbie horn - first one they'd ever installed in a NB.

I LOVE your horn Cori!!

I hope you get everything worked out Tamika.

AND I have to add, I WISH I could find the train horn to install in Evilina. THAT would be TOO much fun!

LOL @ the train horn!!

I got the horn from a lil garage in Kalamazoo (Michigan in case you don't see where I'm from LMAO)... he's a private garage who only works on VW. He has a VW graveyard too. I've actually got pictures my daughter took while we were there that day that look kinda cool. Gotta upload them. LOL

Anyways... all it took to get it fixed up was a new bolt... so it's in there... with the vintage sounding horn... and I LOVE IT! lol I gotta see if any of the videos on my camera turned out... if they did I'll post on youtube, for those of you who don't know what an old horn sounds like (LOL jk).

Did you intall one or two? Would you say your new/old is softer than your originals? I just changed mine, and like it except for the fact that it isn't as loud as the OEM horns. Then again, it's only one horn as compared with the original two.
