More pics of my dash repainting project. Not quite sure if it looks like I had hoped, may need to revisit this ans shoot a coat of clear over the titanium pieces, or give them another coat. Only problem with clear is that it gives off a pretty good glare at night.

That is pretty sweet my friend. Now all that's left is a good vacuuming and to repaint those steering wheel spokes

Ah got a little more than that to do, console is next then I have drivers door panel and rear quarter panel to redo. Once those are done will start on seats the carepet replacement. Gonna redye the seats, gonna replace carpet with black. Then come's the fun stuff, mechanical mods! Thanks for the kind words.

Looks really great! Once you hit those spokes with the same stuff it will finish off the "upper section" Nice!!

did you clear coat it? It doesn't look really shiny, but I actually like the "satin" finish..looks more OEM.

Great interior pictures!!!! I know one thing is for sure. If you replace your shift boot, good luck deciding between black and silver! Its very coordinated and symmetrical!

The paints are made by SEM, I used Trim Black, Presidio Gray, and Titanium Metallic. I got these locally but these guys offer the same paint. And the price is inline with what I paid excluding the shipping.

I used SEM stuff too but it seems to scratch off kinda easily
I used the soap, the the plastic/leather prep, then the color and a few layers of clear. What was your technique, it looks really good, does it seem durable?
my pic thread has pictures (durp.. lol) of the products i used and the outcome.

Question is, is did you use any adhesion promoter? All i did was clean the parts thoroughly, apply adhesion promoter, then paint. Seems to be doing well so far. On the vinyl in the door panel, I did'nt even use the vinyl prep or anything no adhesion promoter, nada. And i can take a wire brush to it and it does'nt come off. I did this on a piece I had screwed up showing a co-worker how good this paint was. Tore the vinyl up but the paint still held strong.

I apologize if Im dredging up a old thread but I have to say that center section of your dash looks awesome! I was thinking about maybe doing mine Blue Lagoon to match the outside color.

You have a excellent color theme going on and I may steal a few ideas!

Thanks for the inspiration!

Ernie had a GPS device of something attatched to the dash, now the center lower dash is scratched up really badly. I am trying to decide weather to do that or find another. Yours looks really good.

Nice work with your Beetle interiors Oldbugman!

Do you remember how many cans of SEM Presidio you used to paint the grey dash parts of your Beetle?

I’m asking because I have to buy it from an on-line shop located in UK since I can’t find it in Spain.

Thanks in advance.
