The late model bugs (after the redesign) have fogs only as part of Package 2, AFAIK. I bought all the parts to add the fogs to my '06 Package 1, I just haven't got around to installing them yet (or the auto-dim rear view mirror I bought, either...).
For stock fog lights, you will need the following: Euro switch (or the Package 2 stock switch) Left and right fog lights - (IC0-941-699-E and 1C0-941-700-E) Left and right fog light grills - (1C0-807-683-J-01C and 1C0-807-684-B-01C) 6 screws - (N-106-663-02) 6 nuts - (N-905-353-01) Plus assorted wire and a relay to handle the current.

The only difficulty is at (for example) a dealer they will want your VIN to verify the parts, and if you don't have a Package 2 or other special edition the fog lights won't come up on the list. |

ST1300A: Just bought the items listed for my 09 NBC. Ordered from 1st VW Parts. Well, installing the fog lights and grilles should be simple enough. Just wondering how you plan to light'um up? I don't see any existing wiring for the fogs at all on my car. I am planning on adding the fog light relay to inhibit the fogs when brights are on. Went to the salvage yard this morning and removed the relay, socket and some wiring for the relay. We'll see how that installation goes. Let's keep each other posted on our progess and compare notes and methonds. Thanks,

So far, I have the only Euro light switch installed. The fog lights are ordered but not here yet. According to the Bentley wiring diagram, the light switch itself switches the fogs on and off, therefore a relay is not needed (i.e. for stock fogs lights.) The so-called fog light relay is used only to turn off the fog lights when high beams are selected, either flash or steady on.
Several methods can be used to wire up the fogs, as the article referenced using an additional relay. Using the relay to disable fogs when high beams are selected (stock method) is a bit more difficult and the way I plan to use. Keep you posted on progress. |

We have a complete kit to add fogs to the 2006+ cars that did not originally come with them. The kit also includes our wiring harness. The kits can be found here on the website:

Fog lights are installed and working as original.
Went to salvage yard and found relay 53, socket and associated wiring. The relay is used to only disable the fog lights with high beams on. Installed the relay socket in relay panel position #4 under dash. Ran one wire (fogs on) directly to the light switch connector term 8/NL. Ran the fog light power wire up beside the hood release grommet into plenum chamber then on to front of car following existing wires going beside the left headlight (removed for access) and down to fog light. In order to get the relay to function with high beams on and being unable to access the necessary wires to tap in the harness, I just attached them to fuses 3 and 18 on the front side of the fuse panel. Not the best method, but it works. I used plastic corrugated conduit for all wiring. As I am writing this, ECS Tuning is now offering a fog install kit for the 2006+ cars. Now they do that as I finish . |

Thanks for all this great information on the fog lights. I have a 2009 NB and I miss the fog light. With all this information I will be able to see the light again.
![]() Well its December 19th 2009 and my ECS foglights are installed. They work great. I had them installed at VW of Orland Park. I called ECS and they said a fair labor time would be 2 to 4 hours. 4 hours if I did it myself, and 2 hours if I had experience. They charged me for 2 hours. I am 100% happy, and wnat to thank ECS for their support and patients with me. Respectfully Steve Gillaspie. Last edited by sgillaspie; 12-21-2009 at 12:11 AM..
