Lightbulb Tail Lights...

why do all the aftermarket ones have to be so ugly? seriously, what were these companies thinking?

no one thought for a second... "hey these are remarkably ugly"...?

anyone know if it's possible to get or make the factory lights with a white turn signal?

EURO spec has yellow turn signal. I should arrange it for you.

well what i mean is a white turn signal while not turned on.

essentially what they look like stock without the orange insert, and using an amber bulb instead.

i did see some LED ones though, that are completely red with a clear white turn signal, which i'm pretty much set on now.

they look pretty stock... almost.

Of course, but I have them yellow instead and not the amber bulb.

i also found this...

Krylon: Products: Stained Glass Color

which apparently is useable to turn those clear ricey looking tail lights into pure sexiness.

i'm wondering if it's possible to get the look of those ones above this post using the silver/black LED tails.

anyone tried this?

Just found a place in Minnesota that sells them.

$275 just seems like a lot.

if i can't post the pictures, just delete them, insted of locking the page... por favor.

If you try to paint a set of Altezza's red, do yourself a favour and cut them open and paint the inside of the lense. They'll turn out way better.

yeah i pretty much think i'm just gonna shell out the $275 for the red ones.

it's a $50 savings before the shipping... and i can ony imagine what shipping from Japan would be.

i bet it's easily $100 cheaper to get it from that company in Minn.

My bf's brother used this kind of stuff on his mk3 golf head lights and made them yellow (on the inside)...looks pretty good and it wasn't too crazy yellow that would attract cops or anything. Guess you would have to find the right kind of tail lights to try this too?

saw them on Bugsgogo... but the shipping is outweighing the purchase.

and ebay only has the ugly tails still.

the two that actually look good seem to be out of stock.

yeah it seems that for the beetles there aren't nearly as many tail light choices that would let you do it.

the two up above would work, but they look better with white in my opinion.
