Finally got tinted!

As of yesterday.. yay! Kept it legal though... but still looks good. Sorry for the rainy day / flowers stuck to car pic. More to come once the weather decides to stop being so yucky.

The tint looks really nice. What brand and type did you use?

Not sure of the brand; I took it to the most reputable shop in the area here so I knew I could trust them, as they offer a lifetime warranty on their work. It's 35% but way darker than I expected... I'm glad I didn't go with the 15% like I had originally planned.

$180; not too bad at all. A few other (not as well-known) shops in town had slightly lower prices, but only by $20 or so.

Tinting is something I plan on doing soon so a ballpark price sets me on the right track. Many thanks

Looks good. I think yours looks as dark as mine and I'm at 20%. You will definitely enjoy it. I paid $160 with the front eyebrow but didn't get the best job.

That tint really makes the difference Emily. Cool factor increased 1000%, not that your beetle wasn't already cool.

I am in Canada and tinting the front side windows is not legal at all . Is it legal in the U.S.?

Windshield tinting isn't legal here in Oklahoma but front side windows may be tinted. Our limit is 25%.

Every state has it's own laws. Here in Illinois, getting the front windows tinted just got passed 10/09. If all windows are tinted, the darkest you can go is 35%. You can go as dark as you want behind the fronts but if you do, the fronts can only be done 50%. I'm at 20% all around. I believe the law is 6" on the top of the windshield for IL.

Only the front windshield is illegal where I am.
The front side windows can be tinted, but to a certain percentage (35%).
I had my rear windows tinted 20%, and front tinted 35%.
My last car was 5% rear and 20% front (way too dark for rear; I'll never do that again) ... and I was never once pulled over.

I live in Florida, but I have my front and back sides, and back window titned at I think 15%. Can barely see in, it's Illeagle. Had it for 6 months and no tickets yet.

I recently had my windows redone to go darker and now i'm sitting at 5% back and 7% in the front and it's good... no problems.... yet, but it does take some getting use to especially at night
