Default Wheel question

I've been lurking here for a few months now. I bought a 2001 beetle back in April. I'm really enjoying driving it. This may be a silly question, but I need to know. I want to upgrade my wheels from the hubcaps I have now to a better looking rim. Are the wheels from other year beetles compatible with my 2001? The last thing I want to happen is to buy a set of vw wheels only to realize they won't work with my car.

Thanks,
Stephanie

When shopping for wheels make sure the bolt pattern is 5x100 and the offset of at least a 35. All beetle wheels will fit your car, except for the old air-cooled.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly what I needed to know. Truthfully, I like the style of the newer vw beetle wheels. I had read they have some sort of "sensor" so I didn't know if I could use them.

Thanks again,
Stephanie

The only sensor that I am aware of could be T.P.M.S. or tire pressure monitor sensor. I am not sure if the NB was equipped with this feature. The Audi wheels I am running have them but since I don't have the receiver they don't do me much good. I have a stock set of TS wheels off my car that are for sale in the classified section. Just puttin it out there.

Our '08 has T.P.M.S. but my '04 TS doesn't. I'm not sure when they added that feature. It shouldn't make any difference in regard to you using other NB wheels, Stephanie. Should be able to use any NB wheel without a problem. I'm going to go pick up a "new" set of wheels for my TS tomorrow. Then I have to go tire shopping. Keep us posted on the wheels you are looking at, Stephanie.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This is a very informative forum. I don't know what it is about people who drive NB's...very friendly. I get a lot of waves driving mine. I'll be sure and update later when I find a set of wheels.

Stephanie
