Default 12 Volt Power & Ground Help

I'm in the process of adding LED footwell lights and LED's in the bud vase. I mounted 2 switches on the lower dash panel where the hazards are on the outside panels. I do not have heated seats. I have the hazard switch, defrost switch, and a dummy switch plate that easily comes out. While modding this piece, I found a green wiring harness that isn't connected to anything.
Anyone know what this is for? Which wire is 12V constant hot? Obviously I will check with my meter, but nice to know ahead of time. And also, do I really need to ground my switches for LED lights? If I have to, is there ground in that harness? Pic is the lower dash piece. No pic of the harness though. Looks fatter and bigger than the hazard and defrost harness though and those were black(I think)?

Nothing. How about what option am I missing? Traction control button? Is that in with the hazard and rear defrost swithc? That is probably what the harness is for. BTW, make sure you plug your hazard switch before you drive as you will not have turn signals with it unplugged. Found that out the hard way.

Just tried wiring my stuff up to the seat heater wiring harness and no dice. This car is wired up all crazy. Even with a diagram (TY J.) nothing worked right. The first time I flipped my switch, my fuel pump and dash lit up like I turned the key to accessory. My keys were sitting on my passenger seat at the time. With my switches being lit up all the time anyway, I will have to tap into the radio for my 12 volt power. I will try to ground it to the harness which should be fine.

My humble opinion, but you could tap into the cig outlet power. Its on a 25A ckt. Wires run right behind your switches anyway. Thats what I did, and have no problems.

Much easier than finding my remote for my amp. Thanks.

I just looked at the diagram again, and I think I have one more option before I go to the lighter.

Well, as promised, I am lit up and all the painted parts are installed. After many attempts and multiple new spade ends , I had myself a beer and figured out what I was doing wrong. So, I wired the switches to the seat heaters. I ran the bud vase and added 2 LED lights sneaking through the mood light hole. Used electrical tape to fill in the blank. Those are wired to the green harness for the heated seats. The footwells are wired to the brown wiring harness for the heated seats. I ran 12V power to the switch via a spade to each harness at the Gray/Blue terminal (for the light on the heated seat switch). The red leads from the LED strip lights went to the load side of the switch and the black leads were ran to the ground on the switch and the harnesses at the brown terminal. A big thank you to J.Arce for the wiring diagrams. I couldn't have done it without them.

I used a junk yard rear window defroster switch and pigtail connector in the spare slot for my under dash lights. Rather than LED's I used a couple of NB trunk, glove box lights, etc. Whats nice about the heater switch it lights up red as other dash lights and yellow when the under dash lights are switched on. These two LED's can be changes to any color you desire. I made new graphic rather than the defrost icon.

Great idea with the defrost switch. I was thinking about doing something like that with the actual heated seat switches and hoping the different settings would adjust the brightness. I didn't want to spend that kind of cash to do it though. I guess I could have found them elsewhere, but time and $ are a big restriction for me. I am way happy other than I would have liked the switches lit up when not in use. Oh well!

Nice. I noticed you also lit up your bud vase. That is a nice touch of class...

Thanks. I can't wait to actually drive around with it like that.

I am attaching wiring diagrams for the heated seats. It says its from 1998, but I'm sure they are pretty close over the years and if you are looking at these, you will be checking with a meter anyway.
