Default 1998 armrest??

Do 98 beetles have an armrest? My car does not have one but it looks like there is a spot where one should go?

I have looked at some pictures on here and didn't think it was supposed to have one...but my boyfriend thinks there should be one there?

Between the seats?
My 99 doesn't have one either, I am pretty positive they added it in 2000 or 2001 or something like that.

All you need to do is score one on CL or ebay, the mounting bracket goes on top of the ebrake area. Just need to trim the console to make room for the armrest parts.
