Default Help needed with HID kit installation

The OEM bulb has one yellow wire leading to it, and the bulb has a metal flange. The HID bulb has two wires (blue & red) and a plastic flange. The blue and red wires then go to to the ballast. And the ballast has a black wire (ground) and red. Where do the black & red wires get connected to?

What kind of bulb is in the first picture? For any OEM headlight application there should be two leads.

Are you trying to replace one of those cheapo single lead aftermarket fog lights with HID bulbs?

Those aftermarket kits often use the bulb chassis as the neutral, in which case you'll need to find a way to connect the black lead on the HID ballast to the chassis, and connect the red lead to the yellow wire that used to connect to the bulb.

The first photo is the factory (OEM) bulb. I'm looking to replace the stock low-beam bulbs, with an HID kit. The first photo is the low-beam H1 bulb that I removed. No, the OEM bulb only has ONE yellow wire going to it. You can see the connector tab at the end of the bulb.

I beleave that the gound is in the clamp that holds the blub in place. You will have to un do the ground on the housing and connect it to the hid. I think that is how the low beam was done. It had been over a year since i did mine. I hope i remember right. If that is not right let me know and i will look and see on mine.
