Have you tried any of the couple dozen online VW Dealer Parts and VW Parts Resellers? Most all should have it in stock, and it's just a case of shopping around to save nickels and dimes. If you can tell me the year, I can look up the part numbers (there are actually two pieces needed) for you.

Edit: In checking the parts diagrams through the '05 MY, the door handle is shown as part of the door panel assembly and not identified by a separate part number. This usually indicates replacement is by replacing the entire door panel. Only the trim plate for the door handle is separately identified, with a change in mid year '01. For the handle, your best bet is going to be a junk yard or online dismantler, the trim plates are evrywhere, and cheap. If you want the p/n for the door panel there is a number of things which must be know, or have a dealer give you the correct number based on your VIN.

I've tried the junkjards too and no luck. They only last like 2 days in there, there are many beetles over here in florida.
I wanted to get only that part because the rest of the door panel is good, just needs some heavy cleaning! but I guess I'll have to get it anyways lol

thanks for your help!!!

I have a link to a national base for salvage yards and dismantlers, but unfortunately my other laptop is currently unaccesible as the damn cat likes to chew cords and yesterday took out my powerpack. Waiting for a replacement, and then I'll get the info and send it to you.

I do see a lot of complete door panels on eBay, usually $100-$130 + S&H. But be aware, the handle is a very weak design, and in not buying a new one you may well be buying someone else's old problem.

The p/n for the door panel can be found here as can the p/n for the trim plate

Its part of the door panel. You can get the "cover" for the handle separately but that's it. You can see that the bottom screw is attached to the rest of the door panel.

How much do you actually use that handle? You could try to epoxy it back on, but it probably won't hold up all that great if you use it a lot.

You need to get a hold of orgers "EvilinaDM101" (CLICK HERE FOR HER PROFILE PAGE). They live in Orlando and have been to some local salvage yards in your area. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

ALSO...

I'm sure they'd like to hook up with a fellow Orlando beetle owner. The central FL collective is growing at a rapid rate; I hope you become an active part of it

All the best

I have replacement door panels for sale. Cheap! I may even consider delivering them if you pay for gas. I am in Gainesville.

I will give you for the price I paid. If shipping is involved that is extra. If gas is involved that is also extra (maybe 1/2 tank?).

Paid 150 for two front door panels including the handle covers as well as the two rear panels. They may need to be sprayed or you can take off the colored piece on yours and put them on. I would suggest spraying them to match, the top piece is black.

These are the pics I got from bugman who sold them to me. You can get all four pieces for that price.. which is more than a steal.

Killer price! Especially if all panels are in the condition the one pictured appears to be. Need to jump all over this! And quick before someone else here on the Org does.
