Default Help for TAYs Bug

I just purchased a 98 Beetle for my daughter Taylor. I need to add some PINK accents to it. What would you suggest? It's got the stock aluminum wheels (6 spoke I believe). I thought about painting the dimples on the wheel caps, but they are actually holes and not dimples. Not a LOT of bink but just a touch of pink is what I'm going for. I'm sure she'll put BLACK seat covers in with a splash of pink somewhere in them.

You guys/girls are the veterans here... any ideas?

Thumbs up

There are actually any number of members with cars with pink accents. Try simply searching "pink", although you may be overwhelmed! (lol)

Regarding the seat covers. You need to know, for her safety, the side air bags are in the outside seatback side bolsters. Their effectivess is dependent upon splitting the side bolster seam if they go off. Excercise caution that the covers she buys are provisioned for this, or the airbags become ineffective as designed and possibly quite dangerous.

When I read your post, Evilina came to mind too- Shonnel's beetle in my opinion is the benchmark for pink beetles. I like Her's because the pink accents the car and is not the primary color. From your previous comments, that's a bit too much pink for you, BUT i'd still give Shonnel a hollar- either by PM, or even better, her photo thread. She can steer you in the right direction- from mild to wild, She and her hubby, Joey can be a big help to you.

And like Big Mo said, search Pink and you'll find a crapton of pink beetles to glean inspiration from.

But again, my default is to get a hold of Shonnel and Joey.

One quick FYI on Shonnel's Evilina. The outside is vinyl. Most of the inside accents are painted. They'll give you the skinny on everything.

Now my beetle, Cup, is black with green accents. You're more that welcome to take a look at her thread and are welcome to use some of my ideas. It's a long thread, so Cup's recent interior mods are at the latter end of the thread. Give me a hollar if I can be of service

good call on the seat covers Vette.... good call.

Yes, it would seem that Evil is the bug perfect for example of pinks. Thanks SOOO much for the great posts. I'll say again that this may be the best collection of NICE people of all the forums I've been involved with. I wonder why???

Seriously, I'm not sure why everybody is so nice here. Trust me, I love it... just... well, I guess... refreshing.

Going to pick up the beetle today. Think we've named it already... "Bob"

Wish me luck and I'll be bending your ear Evil as soon as we start colorize "Bob"
