Default swapping to or from siginal mirrors

What's involved in putting the '03.5 siginal mirrors on an earlier car ?

I dont know much about the wiring of the unit. But I replaced a broken driverside on my 03.5 TS, and let me be. the first to say it's a PIA.

I thought the shell might just swap out, but is it all part of the hinges too?

Yup. You need a good assortment of tools to just get the 3 bolts out. But the trim removal is kind of a pain itself with a couple hidden screws to make it fun. Then just fishing the wire harness thru the door takes a lot of time. It took over 4 hours to install and that was with a good friend of mine who is a professional tech with every tool you can think of. He was amazed at how over engineered this thing was. we actually had to disassemble the new housing to install the glass and blinker from the old light.

I searched the org for quite a bit last night and found very little on the subject. It would seem to me though that all you would need is the blinker assembly and the correct shell (unless you have a 98,99,00), but I can't verify that at all. I know it's a pain because it still requires door panel dissasembly.
I'm just amazed that no one here has detailed the later mirror installation

I would think the housing would be the easy part. The wiring in the blinker seems to be the hard part, but wiring is not a strong suite of mine. The door panel removal is cake.
