My stock NB horn was beefier than any horn I've had in a pickup, so I don't think you will gain much.

Currently I am running the "Big Daddy" setup sold here:

Sounds like:

Install was fairly easy, you just need to be a little creative for the mounting. A relay harness is highly recommended, these puppies draw more power than the stockers do. I'm fairly happy with them, they come in handy when other drivers need a "signal."

However, I'm left wanting..."more"...

One of these days I'm going to toss in a pair of Hadley Ambassadors. Thanks to my side exhaust setup, I have a nice big open spot under the back of my car that should work nicely.

One of my horns didn't work when I bought the car, replaced it with a Wolo Bad Boy airhorn.

I went with an old Beetle horn. Seems to be higher pitched than the stock ones, and louder. I like the sound of the old air cooleds.

FootScoot,

Where did you get the "old beetle" horn? I bought one off of eBay last year (still haven't put it on yet) and I'm wondering if it is of the same style. When I bought it I inquired if it would work on my NBC because they advertised that it would in deed work on the NBs...but you know how that goes..."anything" will fit on a new whatever.

I might have to see about putting it on this weekend...wondering if I will have to change any or the wiring or if it will be a "plug-n-play" type thing?

Thanks for your input in advance.

Jerry

I did get it off eBay. It's German made, a good quality piece. It was fairly easy to install it. I did have to cut the wiring as they are different, but nothing major, 2 blade connectors, 2 butt splicers, or one could solder these 2. Then tape it all up. I used the stock mount, which places the "new" horn facing downward. It can be changed back to stock just as easy. Hardest part of this job is jacking the car up, and removing the wheel, tire and inner fender liner.

You could bypass the truck horn and go for one of these, check out the videos, get noticed.
