Default Tint on Beetle

I have an 09 ivory colored beetle with a tan interior and am thinking of getting the windows tinted.
im having trouble deciding what % tint i should get...
im thinking of 20% all around (except the windshield) since the interior is tan (or is that too dark?)

what % tint would you guys suggest on my beetle?
also, im located in ATL.

I wouldn't go too dark. I had a car years ago that had limo tint and I had to roll down the windows at night just to see around corners...not fun in the winter. I would check and see what percentage your state will allow and go with that. Not sure whats on my beetle but it's dark enough to look good but light enough to see where I'm going at night.

My car is at 20% all around plus I have a strip across the windshield. I think it is the perfect %. Not crazy dark at night and pretty good during the day. I would have hated the legal limit here in IL which is 35%.

I had 20% on all the cars I have ever tinted and it did look best. But I have to admit at night sometimes it was a bit too dark for my taste. So next time I will probably go with 30% tint all around which may not look as good as 20% but it makes me feel safer at night.

Because of our "fish bowl", a lot of light comes in. I figured I give you that shot with the sun beating in on that side. It actually is pretty dark. Figured I'd post a pic of the Inn Bill Murray stayed at in Groundhog Day.

may want to check the law in GA. You guys have inspections right? In NC they test it when you get your car inspected (extra 10 bucks) if it doesn't pass, you have to peel it off..lol. Rules are different everywhere though. A friend moved here from NY and what was legal there wasn't here.

I think the limit in Georgia is 32%.

I have 37% all around on my Harvest Moon. *Acceptable* I used 20% on my 03 back window and it was too dark for the auto-dim mirror to work properly .

I have 13% all around and a top strip on the windshield. It looks great but I wish I went darker but all about preference...and yea my windows are way illegal but I have a way around that

Had 35% on my Subaru and hated it:/ kinda hard to see in this pic but you get the idea

hated as in nowhere near dark enough

13% is way too Dark! With it letting only 13% light into the cabin it also makes it totally unsafe. You may "Think" you can see just fine but I bet you don't, especially at night. What is your way of getting around the legal aspect? Is your second cousin the chief of police of hazzard county?

Don't tell me you have Glaucoma? Does that mean you can have funny tasting brownies too

Perhaps I need to look up your doc. I have this problem with my right foot feeling heavy like lead.

I had some radiation treatment done a while back when I was run down by a drunk driver and my left upper thigh was mangled. They had to give me radiation treatments to get rid of the numerous blood clots in my leg. Not a happy time in my life. I had about 4 different incidents where I came close to seeing my maker but someone wants to keep me down here for a little longer. Next time I will ask for permission to tint my windows darker along with my handicap tag

Yeah, no Tom. Groundhog Day was filmed in Woodstock IL not in Punxsutawney. They don't have a square in Punxsutawney. The Inn and the Square are both about a block from my house.

I had 5% Limo Black on my Opel and it was super dark. I loved it. Back then, I thought I could see pretty well at night. Thinking back, I probably couldn't really see a thing!

That is right about mid range for a beetle I would say. I paid $160 total but that was about 6 months after IL put the tinting law into effect here so everyone had deals. My place used Sun-Tec from what it looks like on their site now. They actually have a deal going for $129 for 5 windows.
