Default Rim help

Ok, here is the scoop. I just purchased a BCC kit (thanks gargos) and its getting ready for prime and paint right now. My problem is rims. I really would like to get the white 18" O.Z. superturismo like is on the real cup cars but O.Z. doesnt make them in white anymore just silver. I know that bildon motorsport can import the real thing but the offset is wrong for stock fender width cars. So, I was wondering if anyone has any idea of a rim that I could get in white and 18" that is similar in design to the supertruismo. I've found another rim called the Team Dynamics Pro Comp 1 that is supposed to come in white but my wheel dealer says he can only get it in black because its discontinued now. Yes, I know that I could have the rims refinished but it would stink to have to pay $1200-1500 on a set of rims then have to drop another $500-700 having them refinished. Please post pics of any wheels that you know of that might work for me.

You can hold whatever you have for now and wait to see if a set shows up on vwvortex, here or ebay. Or you can consider www.ronalusa.com, r-38 model which can be painted white by them. You can get these in 17" or 18" and proper offset and bolt pattern.

http://www.ronalusa.com/wheels/r38.html

Other than finding something else and getting it painted, this may be your best bet. I think these are the same wheels marvins_dad has on his car.

I dont really like the r-38 as a replacement for the superturismos. The r-39 seems closer but they have covers for the lugs which throws off the looks. Im actually thinking of ordering a set of r32 rims and powder coating them white. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Facto...QQcmdZViewItem I dunno, I hope to make my mind up soon.

Here are the original VW Cup Kit wheels. Get the wallet ready if you want these though. They will not last much longer. They only have 5 sets left.

Did not notice the offset was only 10mm on those. Talk about tiny. Powdercoating white is a good idea. You may also considet the A8 replicas. They look hot on a NB and even better in white. Loseph here has a set but they are not podercated. Check the pics.

Hope Joe does not mind posting a pic of his car.

If this is what you are looking for, I would jump on these. They don't come up very often. I looked around the 'tex to see if any were on there. Not a single set. These seem pretty hard to come by.

Good luck with your look. Always a nice set up.

Buy the R32 OZ Aristos and have them painted. I have them and absolutely love the look which mimics the Supertourismos very well. I have also seen them on a batic blue beetle with bcc body kit and they complete the RSi replica look. Post pictures when the car is completed because I plan on going Strictly foreign front and wing, extremedimensions rear and xenon side skirts this summer. R32 OZ Aristos all the way!

I really appreciate everyone's help so far. The O.Z. Wrc superturismo's are available only in 17's for beetle, I'm looking for 18's. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get the O.Z. Arsitos since I think I can get them pretty cheap. I have a friend that says he can get them powdercoated white for $100 a rim. My paint guy says my kit will be finished by this weekend and should be installed by the first of next week. I dunno how long it will be to get my exhaust installed but pics will be coming soon.

Yes, my rim dealer has suggested that rim. I'm just a little partial to exposed lug nuts on a racing style rim. That rim is def near the top of my list as of right now though.

I ordered a set of 18" aristos from ecs tuning today. They are on back order for 2 weeks and they will only be getting 2 sets in at that time. I figured for $1300 brand new with shipping there was no better deal out there. The set on e-bay has already gone over $600 with no tires. The 225-40ZR-18 Michelin Pilot Sport tires list on tirerack.com for $800 + shipping.

The PS2 is considered in the top 3 world's best rated dry/wet summer tires, but didn't realize your rims came with the Sports.

I have 'em, they're awesome.

Compare the ratings of the two, the PS2 wins big:

Yea, if I had my choice I would have def gotten the PS2 but I think I'll be happy with the sports. I hardly drive hard or fast anymore. It's all about the looks to me now. Both tires seem very capable of high performance driving.

Hey Darkman. My Beetle is only lacking the bumper for the cup look. I went with black center meshed Volk wheels since I am doing a retro them with black hood, rook and lid. I get mine back on Friday since they were installing the wing and the side skirts and panting the lid and roof black.

Cant wait to see your pics.
