It might not be plug-and-play, but since it's built off the same MkIV platform as the New Beetle, I can see it working out. I did a little search, but couldn't come up with someone who has done the swap thusfar.
You could always just stick with the GTI or R32 swap, if you're desperate to get rid of the stock steering wheel ![]()
