Default New Lowering Suspension Kit

I am looking to lower my NB. I've read many different brands on other threads. Is there one out there that I should be looking at? Do they come in kits? Is there any "How-to's" out there on doing the work myself or should it be done professionally?

Sorry for the length of the question.

Next Level Tuning is recommending the Koni Coilovers. The height is adjustable, as is the dampening. Koni has other kits available as well. The ability to adjust height and dampening is what I find appealing.

A lot of info on the VWVortex suspension forum..HERE

As to installation. I drive my daughter to school and to her freinds. While I may do some mods.. Handle guards, Ipod integration.. I tend to leave suspension, brakes, wheels, and engine to the pros.
