Borrowed from Growler in the retro steelies how-to:

for chrome rings go to www.jcwhitney.com
do a search for beauty ring
click on variety of wheel accessories
click on the CHROME-PLATED ULTRA-SLIM TRIM RING SET details

I'm doing the retro steelies mod this week as well.

Well I just put on the trim rings
and I have a question.

I hope you don't mind savethebluths.org
if I ask a question in your thread.

I had trim rings on my previous car a 2001
Ford Crown Victoria and the trim rings on
that vehicle fit like a regular hubcap would,
by pressing on the retention clips and pushing them
on.

I tried doing that with these slim rings for
the new beetle and it was'nt going on.

I looked at the back of the slim rings and
they have a groove it seems.

Do the slim rings fit over the outer bead of the rim?

That's the way I have them on now, but I've never attached
something to the wheel this way before.
