Default 03 Beetle Rear/Front emblem removal help.

I looked online and have noticed that they are selling a front and rear emblem for the beetle. I know the 98-2001ish emblems are entirley different. However the newer beetle emblems look to be the same? Are they and is the process for removing them the same I.E. heat them up and cut the backing with dental floss? Help a brotha out yall.

No I'm not wanting to put the 3-d ones in. I'm just thinking of replacing my existing emblems with the blue and white ones, maybe. The ones tha are on there are getting pretty back with the clear coat stuff pealing and I'm just trying to figure out how much a pain it's going to be to replace em.

Certified pre-owned from a VW dealer? Ask, they might be covered! At any rate, if not covered, to replace those crappy badges, which VW doesn't use on the NB anymore, is a waste of money IMO. Either shave them completely or go 3-D, not sure the Euro blue badges go with the 'look' of the Turbo S (I used to have the exact same car btw), but it's up to you dood.

Doesn't use on the Bug? all the new emblems are the flat emblems. they don't use the 3-D emblems anymore that I know of.

The 'flat' emblem was used from '03-'05, the new '06 New Beetle has 3-D's that are slightly smaller and flatter than the old 3-D's.

I want to do this too. My current ones are almost like they are peeling or something - even the back? Where are you getting these 3D badges for the '03?

They're just OEM badges. I have the 3-D 'chrome' badges from bugsgogo, shinier than the regular '3-D' badges. I think they are actually early year badges and the slightly duller ones, which also have a tendency to peel, are from later years before the flat badge appeared. U can get 'em on e-bay, the dealer or other on-line VW part sources.
