Car of the Month
I have no idea if this has ever been done or attempted before, but it'd be cool for us to run some sort of "contest" every month to recognize the hard work all of us do to the autos we love so dearly.
Maybe we could do it as a poll. Or maybe a team of people could it. I dunno. But it'd be really cool to have something like this. I'm up for keeping track of all the stuff needed. If it works as a poll, we could just have a few nominees and then have the poll open for a few days and announce the winner on the 1st of every month. Maybe James can give the winner one of those red name tags that says "Car of the Month: July" or whatever. It'd have to be even, though. You can't be putting cars like mine up against FreakyBeetle... that's just not fair. Any takers?

What, like a comittee decides? I do like the idea, i think it needs a seperate forum section.
How will this car be showed througout the month? Will it be displayed in the place where a random bug shows up now on the homepage, or maybe under it? Or will it be more like hte vortex auto biography where there's like a whole story each month?

Excellent thoughts, Gina and Jos-B...
Maybe one of the Mods can think of something special to do. Subtle, but special for the winner. And, yes, there should be a type of "committee" of sorts. Two or three or four people that choose the nominees for that month. And the committee will not always been the same. We don't want anyone getting bias about it.

You guys are going to laugh at me when I tell you this... but I am a member of www.CrabStreetJournal.com , a Hermit Crab Enthusiast Web Forum... and we celebrate the best picture (crab) of the month and also the best Crabitat set up of the month...
Its really fun. We can see all the submissions for that month and it really nice to go to the contest area to see the pictures and get ideas for yourself. yes, I have crabs.

I kinda of belong to a forum that does this (http://www.dakotausa.com/vBulletin/index.php?), I no longer have my Dakoata, but still like to drop in now and then. Perhaps if anyone is willing to take on the task of Bug of the month, you could get help in setting the "contest" up from this site.
