i say that you block the classified ads to newbies on here until they have at least 50 posts or something like that. i was on another forum that did that so that people just didnt come, sell, and leave. i have had 2 people on here back out on things with me and i just think it would help people trust them more if they had more posts first.

I thought the fourm was to help people? It seems that when I post I get help from only a few people. When I post replys to help some one no one seems to to reply. just ck out [TOP RATTLES] post. Two pages of posting ,then I find out what the dealer did to fix mine no one seems to reply. Is this fourm only for a few people ?

I can see the classifieds for posting items for sale ... but not so much for buying ... that would hurt esp for the cars for sale. As for being able to post at all ... that is not really good. Most newbies are here for information and don't know enough about their cars to be giving much information.

And Bandit ... if you do a lot of posting in 2.5L area, there are not as many users with the 2.5L since it has only been out a little over a year. It is very cool though that you do put the solution to the original problem, it erks me when I find someone that has had the same problems I may be having, and never post back what they did to solve it ... thankfully I don't see it on the Dub forums much, but the Ford Truck and Honda forums it is there alot.

Thanks for the good thoughts, I am a newbie and do not know much about the new beetles. I have owned a 62 vert, 63 sedan and 65 bus, the new ones are not the same.Trying to learn all I can. It just seems that people have problems but dont seem to want to find out what others have done to fix the same problem. I will not post again.

By all means post again. By the time I found this site I had already taken apart at least two systems on my car. Most people search for what others have done to fix certain problems, some post questions and we answer best we can. It is not as easy to find stuff anymore though since a lot of the old posts on the Old Forums are hard to search. At least you have one advantage .. anything under the hood of your car would be posted here in the new forum. There is one thing about old threads ... they don't resurect easily ... it is the same on all the forums I am on ... Dub, POSFord Truck and Honda. I agree with your analysis of the top problem and fix .. I have a Del Sol ... it rattle a lot ... but that is the nature of a vert ... 84 380SL was the same way, soft top or hard top, after the first year or two it makes it's noises.

I am sorry I can not help you ... and for what it's worth, of the people with the most experience with the whimseys of the NewBeetle, most of us do not have an vert and even fewer have a 06 vert, but sooner or later there will be more. I am sure it was the same way for the folks that bought a New 98 or 99 NB ... before a resource like this was available. So it's up to you to be one of the experts in your catagories. And whenever I find that Karhmann Vert and get it ... I will have to go to you for the how to's.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

If your BRAND NEW car is having issues, I would recommend that a dealership see it.

i am a member of the international school of gemology, for a while they didn't have moderators and you had to wait a day before your member account was activated and you could post on the forum. they allow students of the International school of gemology, normal folks like myself, sellers of jewelry and gemstones to post and sell their product. but, they have had an issue with spam and weirdos posting junk on the isg forum. and allowing sellers that are not reputable has been quite a problem, especially alot of the ebay sellers that sell gemstones that aren't what the seller claims the gemstones are supposed to be. but there's not much posting and sharing of information and friendliness at the isg forum that there is here at newbeetle org. i spend a whole lot more time here than at the isg forum.

i was relieved to find nb.org! it's a great place to be for chitter chatting, information of all sorts on the nb, and for a good laugh. maybe it would be wise to not allow folks to sell on the org until so many posts, maybe would be a good move, too.

any newbeetlers gemstone fanatics like moi?

"Not" Yes your alway going to get the losers but their are people mixed in like me who are gald that you all share so easy. Helps me learn the ropes and join in when I think I can help. I never posted anything more then pictures and discription befor I became a member because I thought so much of the good work you all do.
