i thought of this today and thought it might work out for everyone. you could charge a couple dollars to enter a contest and the winner could win some new pedals or shifter or some kind of parts and then newbeetle.org could keep like 1-5% of everything submitted to help pay for the website and other needs. it might not be much but every little bit helps and im sure people would love that. maybe start out small and do like $1 to enter and the winner gets some newbeetle.org stickers or something. just a thought.

I like the idea. but what are we compeating. is it just pull a name out of a hat and they win. or is it our new beetles get judged by the moderators and who ever they think is best kinda thing. i think that the second thing wouldnt be in the spirit of the org. but the first would be good.

people are cheap. not a bad idea, but no idea how well it'd go over.
Than you'd have to have enough people to enter to begin a prize search.

Judging cars though is like judging cutest baby. everyone loves their own the most, usually.

If it were a voting thing, as opposed to a raffle. You can use polls.

Absolutely couldn't do a "who's car is best" it's WAY subjective... ( And I'd win EVERY TIME. )

But I like the idea; I'd like some kinda contest though, something where we could abstract the person out of it.

what else?

What other kinds of contests could we do?

I like the funny pic one.

Maybe it could go like this (using the funny pic one as an ex.)

$1 gets you submitted into the contest. They could be monthly like the photo ones. A mod starts the new thread at the beginning of the month. We submit our photos and there's some sort of Paypal system set up to send our $1. Then we vote via poll on who's photo is the best. Only problem being that people will be voting for friends.
