can't post to member's photos threads

everytime i try to respond to someone's picture on the members photo it says i don't have permission too....anyone know why ?

Because forum rules state only the original poster can respond to Member photo threads...I have always assumed to keep people getting their feelings hurt. Some folks think they look better than they do. I know I'm ugly as hell...that is why I haven't posted one.

And so no one gets a million responses on how hot/ugly they are and others don't hear anything. You can only post in your own member thread... although Amy once mysteriously posted in mine...

Feelings schmeelings. Might do some folks some good to tell them the truth--constructive criticism. I'd want someone to tell me if I looked like a fool (maybe I do and no one's told me). Heh.

Some folks take constructive criticism for what it is...others take it personally, especially if it is criticism of their looks...or their car.

Well considering that I look like a prince that just hasn't gotten kissed yet so I'm still in the toad stage, I appreciate that no one can remind me of that.

There are far too many sensitive souls on the Org to be able to handle comments on personal photos.

Yeah, and I'd spend entirely too much time every day going through and deleting all of the comments from the ladies in my thread

Out of privacy/consideration for the member who posts their photo, there will be no replying to their threads, and any threads created saying OMG!! CRAZYJAMES IS SO HAWT will be kept around forever.... umm any threads discussing someones member photo threads will be deleted.

Sounds fair to me...I always thought it was good that they were restricted like that.

If you see someone and want to make a NICE comment...PM them or use the reputation system to send them a NICE comment privately.

The Rep system is used by clicking on the little page with the green plus sign at the top right of the person's last post in the thread (well, all posts, but the last is probably the most accessible.)

I like that comments can't be posted because the comments would break up the pictures. I like having them all together like that rather then having to search through pages of words to find 'em.

True, but if you're really happy with yourself or you car it wouldn't bug (ha, pun)you too much. I guess I was blessed/cursed with a highly logical heart.

I think it's a brilliant idea that only the thread starter can post in the member picture forum.

Some would get "you're so hot!", and others would get nothing, or post that might hurt feelings (like me). So, don't ask that the current rule be changed.

There would be some members threads that are hundred of pages long, and others with no comments.
