Default Sigs

This is by far the most efficient way of making that information available w/o broadcasting it on every post.

That is what I am trying to avoid.
Thanks for the tip.

I figured it out. It's not a built-in feature, but it's a relatively simple template hacks (I'm fine with template hacks, I just don't want to do any PHP file or database hacking). Sigs should appear once once per page now.

I figured out how to make the sigs show up only once per page on the new forums. It's just a tempalte hack, so it was cool. Should be working!

would be nice if the [IMG] was enabled in the Sig section so we could put image sig like these(just some examples I made)
marvins_dad hope you don't mind I used your car pic and name for an example.

I gotta admit I thought that was super cool when I first started playing with those on other websites but now I find them really distracting and annoying.

I vote... no thanx to those.

Heh-heh-heh! Don't mind at all - might have to steal it and use it on my local forms. Nice job
I believe we debated the topic before we rolled out the new version...answer was no...but that was before Jeff figured we could have it only have one sig. per page again.

I think the biggest problem was not being able to police what images were used and having to figure out what we would allow and what would be obsene, etc...

Personally, I vote "no" on image sigs - IMHO, they're distracting. Plus, they add to the page load times.

Image-based sigs can be very cool when they're well-designed and kept to a reasonable size. However, we have no way to control them, and this means it'd be possible for people to use signature images that are pornographic, offensive, obnoxious, huge, or otherwise undesirable.

I'm afraid we just can't do it -- even though it might be cool when used well.
