Default Pet Peeves with the Tech Forums

I've noticed that a lot of people will post topics in the tech forums that aren't really tech questions or belong in a different forum altogether. For example...

Just because your car has a 1.8T DOESN'T mean you have to post a question about wheels for it in the 1.8T tech section. It should be for engine & related questions and information (i.e. 1.8T specific brake questions & spoiler issues)

If your seats are dirty in your beetle, please post any question on cleaning them in the detailing forum and NOT the technical modifications forum.

A question about financing and purchasing a 1.8T beetle is NOT a technical question.

It seems like (1) the mods are asleep and (2) Nobody reads the descriptions of the forum they are about to post in.

Personally, I find it annoying and disorganized.

Welcome to the lazy nature of humankind.

Don't matter what instructions, how many times you ask, some people are gonna do what's easiest, even if it's wrong.

Hey, I'm not blaming the moderators, per se. I'm just saying that threads that ought to be moved should be moved. I can't do it, but a mod can. If a mod doesn't, then it doesn't get done.

Here's how you rectify the problem. Report it. One of us (Mods) will get to it and take care of it.

On other forums ppl get flamed for such blatant stupidity.
Maybe we're just too nice here.

Flames aren't really a solution.

NYBugman, feel free to hit the 'report this thread'. It'll send me an email and let me know.

I try to move them when I see them; but the method I use to browse the forums isn't very well geared for that type of organizing.

I'll often not notice which forum I'm in when looking at threads. So yes, please DO contribute to the orderly nature by helping us.
