Default Excessive editing/closing of threads

Why is it that there is so much editing/closing/deleting of threads/posts on this forum? I have never seen this level of editing before on any other forum. Especially when said posts are well within forum posting rules and the user agreement.

Why does the original poster's opinion matter more than everyone elses? Just because he/she doesnt like someone else's idea or disagreement with their own idea...they can have everyone else's thoughts deleted or modified?

I am all for keeping a clean and orderly forum. I hate the pointless bickering that often infests other forums. Mods have a tough job, I've been there and still mod on other forums I belong to. Its a thankless job and a delicate balance to ride.

But...please dont take your admin power too far.

Why is it that someone is getting so angry and so stressed out over something so simple, does this person have no other worries in life... Why would this person open a new thread that he/she knows is going to cause more bickering and fighting but not solve anything, why doesn't this person go take a Zannex and take a long nap

Who's distressed and angry? I just think its BS that some thin-skinned people can dictate what someone is able to speak when they are within the forum rules. Why should this cause bickering?

I'm going to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather with my beautiful wife and go on a nice long walk with our dogs. Then we'll grill some burgers and brats, drink some beer, and watch some fireworks. Happy 4th!

I would of rather of cut both of my legs off with a very dull rusty knife, then to have to read another one of your hateful posts over and over again, they were all the same, no one could post anything without the same response from you. Yes, your opinions are appreciated espicially on retro-fitting it's awesome that your doing that, and people are gonna love to see the how to, even me, and I would love to do that but I just really don't care too at this time. You are so against hid kits, its like you hate them more than anything, and thats fine its your opinion, but whenever someone would write up anything about a kit your messages were just so super annoying and hateful not helpful. Caio, and enjoy your holiday, really, not being hateful, have a great day, sounds like its gonna be hella fun!

Hey, you don't like my comment? Am I missing something here? I don't see an excess of locking. Just stopping things before they get too hot topic & personally attacking. Some are more off topic than others. Look at Katies puppy thread, we all ranted in there, but no one locked it...yet.

Gotcha...I suppose it will be locked.

Didnt mean to stir the pot this much, just wanted to send a message to the mods here that I think they are being a little heavy-handed.

As I said, I've been in their shoes and its not easy. But I just like being able to help people out here and be informative. And to have posts deleted just because I dont say, "Ooh your 12,000K super duper blue/purple HID kit is so cool and bright, where can I get one?"...is just a little annoying.

I'm in too.

Sometimes it's not what's said, but how it's said. We can disagree with styling cues and modifications; no one is the same and we have our different styles and tastes, but comments that are mean spirited, with the intent to belittle or degrade isn't necessary.

That wasn't pointed at you DZLBUG- I know of you, but don't really know you. I'm just making a general statement.

BTW DZLBUG, what time can I come over for a burger or two. You afternoon sounds pretty tatsy

No one will have to lock that one, it was a real debate, about something important... not something stupid like frickin' headlights...

one can always add someone to their ignore list and you don't see their posts . . . unless the person just wants to 'stir the pot' and bicker

Ya know, i'm with LN. I really haven't noticed a lot of threads being closed. They're around, but not so commonplace.
