Anybody Else Notice this Place Taking a ****

since the new owner all i see is ads and underlined **** in all the post. anybody else completely think this site as gone down hill since all this started to happen? this **** is ridiculously stupid. is has just become more of a pain in the ass to do anything on this site.

They have to pay for the bandwidth somehow, and the way that they have decided to do it is by selling adspace. The best way to avoid the underlined ads is to become a member sponsor.

Especially not compaired to the amount of topics not relating to cars in any way.

You shouldn't be seeing any underlined ads so long as you're logged in. Member Sponsors see the same ads as other Registered members.

When you see ads that are annoying or really tacky, be sure that they're not around for long. To really see the type of ads that are served by an advertising network, you need to run the network for at least 1-2 days - this is because the ad networks nowadays are contextual.

For members (registered or sponsors), there has NOT been an increase in ads around the site, if for some reason you see ads that should not be seen while logged in, then send me a PM.

Unfortunately, registered users do see the underlined ContentLink ads in pretty much every thread.

We also get the CarNews.net ads and the google ads. These are less annoying than the ContentLink ads, and I have no issues with these. Hey, I've even click on a few

One thing that I've noticed is that if I click into the org from Google, it doesn't automatically sign me in, so I see the underlined ads. (I occasionally search the org from Google because it doesn't filter out short terms {things like "o-bar"})

If I actually type in "newbeetle.org/forums" in the address bar, I am automatically logged in, and no ads show up.

Thats probably cause the links from google have the www.newbeetle.org/forums

Try logging into www.newbeetle.org/forums and saying remember me.

Then going back to one of those google links...

I used to have the underlined ads, but only for a few days. Have not had them in months.

I never google this place. Why would I google it? I have it bookmarked, and I type fast too, so I arrive here directly, and am usually logged in (remembered).

Anyhoooo, the ContentLink ads are now gone.

I use the following format for finding things on the that the search function won't search for:

o-bar site:www.newbeetle.org/forums

It really REALLY helps to find things that the embedded search won't even try to search for.

the underlined junk is really what has bothered me. i dont even look at the google ads even though i kind of think they show up in stupid spots sometimes insted of the top or bottom of the page. i know this has to pay for serverspace but i dont get underlined junk on the tex and it pays for its self im sure.

The tex has a lot higher volume of traffic, though, so they can pay for their server with smaller adspace.

You have to remember, each click that you do here on the org is money in the bank for them.
