Default post signatures & add links to thread, How2

I don't think this in the proper place, but here it goes

Some have been asking, "how do I add links to my signature and to my posts. Well here's how. I hope this is a help to you all.

NOTE: This link application method applies to signatures AND to posts. I'm using the signature route

1.

Find the thread of your choosing. I'm using the "Tail Of The Dragon" thread as an example.

2.

Next, go to either the homepage or if you look at the purple bar at the top of your current page, you'll see "User CP" (User Control Panel on the homepage) CLICK IT

This will take you to your control panel.

Now we'll get the thread that we saved, "Copy" earlier, right-click the mouse, select "PASTE" and **BAM**, the link to the Dragon thread appears.

Now we're gonna customize our link a little bit. A nice touch as opposed to just pasting the bare naked link as seen in the address bar

Keep in mind this method works for when your posting in your threads too.

Now after clicking "OK" The link will appear on the screen. Please note that "CLICK HERE", or whatever text you decide to use, will remain highlighted. LEAVE IT HIGHLIGHTED. This allows you to customize your text if you chose.

You almost have a signature with embedded links WoOt!

7.

And that's it friends. You see the preview of how your signature will look on the org. If it's to your approval, click "SAVE SIGNATURE".

You now have a signature with embedded links within the text.

Again, you can use this method for adding a link to your thread posts
. Just, find the link of your choosing, and when you post your comments, you'll see the "HYPERLINK" icon, just like you did when doing your signature. Follow the same steps, and your, linking and posting like a champion.

Have fun

ONE IMPORTANT NOTE ON POSTING SIGNATURES...
Per the org rules:
As per the rules you agreed to when signing up, please keep your signatures to under 5 lines

Nice how-to, Al! But you should also know that you don't have to go to the homepage to get to the user control panel Look right at the upper left hand side of the page and you'll see user cp. You can get to it from any page Just thought I would add that
Hi Al!!

Thanks for this thread, Al. It definitely answered all my questions and now I too have some cool links in my signature too. It even let me link my profile album. I thought that was cool.
