Default Sightings section?!

So, I frequent the org, the vortex, and tdiclub. Both the tdiclub and vortex have something we dont....a sightings area. Either a thread or sometimes, like the tdiclub, a whole section.

I think it would be neat to have a sightings section in the community area, and then within that sightings section, break it down to location, kinda like the events. That way we could all post any or all VW beetles, jettas, etc or even other "nice" (non-vw) cars we see. With or without pictures. And who knows, maybe we'll say "Hey, saw a sweet silver beetle driving down 85 the other day!" Then I could reply "hey that was me!". It's kinda neat seeing that on the vortex. Tdiclub has 'sightings' but not normally of people on the tdiclub. Simply because it's one big section, so you'd have to filter through all the posts to find sightings in your area. So making sub-sections by location is helpful to filter some of that out. So if I wanted to see sightings in the Southeast, I'd click the Southeast sightings. Or if I wanted to see pictures of the Midwest, same thing.

I don't know, may not be needed, but I think it's kinda fun. And out of the three forums I visit...we are the only ones who don't have a "sightings".

I was actually thinking of this the other day. I see some Beetles around NCSU campus with custom plates or something else and wonder "Hmm are they on the org and I just don't know it?" but there isn't a good place to post it.

The local VW forum I'm a part of has several sighting threads. Its for the state of NC so its broken down by city region (we have a Raleigh/Durham spotted thread, Greensboro spotted, etc). On that type of board it is easier but I still think it could be done here. Just in a more general scale.

yeah, I've been seeing some custom plated beetles and vw's in general lately and wonder if maybe they've been here.

I saw a really nice Orange color concept. It was HOT and it's plate said SUNKISD or something like that.
