Default Visitor Messages problems.

Starting this post to corral the problem, I've heard it reported before, maybe we can find a cause.

If you don't see the textbox for visitor messages, let me know which OS and browser you're using. That's as good a place to start as any.

It should look similar to this:

I'll check my stuff when I get home. I'm here at work running Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6 with no issues. I have Vista at home though.

Glad I'm not alone.

I use a Mac, OSX 10.5.8 with Safari 4.0.5 or Firefox 3.6.6
I have no visitor msg posting box, just the messages (and "enable visitor messages" IS checked):

Works fine at home. Running Vista and Firefox 3.6.6. Also not a sponsor or anything, just a regular member.

Mine's not working either, I was going crazy trying to figure out how people posted visitor messages until I stubbled across this forum. I have Windows Vista, I was orignially using google chrome but I also tried it in IE and it's still not working, I'm going to update java, and the browser and see if it works then

I know it's been like 8 months since we looked into this, but FYI admins, mine still isn't working. I feel like one of the not cool kids here.

It's frustrating, and sort of random. Some new people ahve the feature, others don't. Bah.

I don't know anyone who uses it, really. Everybody sends p/m's. Too public!

Btw, XP and IE, no problem, works fine! It's up for auction on eBay! LMAO

EDIT: Does everyone who is having trouble with this, have Visitor Messaging ENABLED close to the bottom of the "Edit Options"

page in their User CP?

M.

elancee and Fallon both do, and they both suffer the problem.

Good idea worth checking, but already checked that one.

No worries noR. I was just wondering, It's been a while since I asked, so I thought I'd see if you had found a solution. You know it's probably something stupid. Computers.
