Default Sightings Poll/Sightings

Not sure how the poll things works, never tried it so hope it works. On TDIClub, they have a section under photos called sightings meant for cars you have sighted and want to show off or ask who the member is if they are a member in the first place. Poll question is "Who thinks we should have a "Sightings" area? Yes or No

Second part, How many member here are located in the Ashland, Flatwoods, Greenup, KY. area? Also the Ironton, South Point, OH. and Huntington, WV. areas. Sound off if you'd like, love to know how many beetle lovers I live around. I live in Greenup, KY. and see NB all day long while I drive to work in Flatwoods and go to surrounding areas during work. Maybe one day we can get enough people together for a GTG (if there isn't one in the area already, haven't found any yet)

We had a "Parking with New Beetles" thread, but it seems to have disappeared.

you post a picture of a random chance of finding another Beetle in a parking lot someplace.

That would have been nice too, disappointing that it's gone.
I'm hoping we will get enough people on this, maybe they will make another one. Although I should have put this in the suggestion box, didn't see it until after I posted this.

That thread it still around! Just go into "The New Beetle Experience" forum and it's near the top!

We've had this as a suggestion before. Many people want it, not sure why it's not being made.

"parking with new beetles" is nice, but it's not the same as "sightings". I followed a Blue Beetle this morning to work, but I didn't park next to it. So it wouldn't really fit under that thread. I guess someone could start a "sightings" THREAD, but it would be easier to have it built into the forums somehow.

I think on this kind of site, its difficult to do sightings, since there are people from all over the place. We have one on my local VW site, but its only for NC. Its broken down by area (Raleigh/Durham, the coast, mountains, Winston-Salem/Greensboro) and we actually can say "hey, yeah you saw me!" which is cool. I'm not sure it would be nearly the same here, if you are going for seeing if the people are on the Org.

I think you two are right MR and SB, it would be great to have a sightings area instead of just one thread and going by actual area, having it go by states or even regions of the US and then countries. I didn't realise how many people actually had put the sightings suggestion up before until I saw it under my thread as Related. But it would be awesome if they took this suggestion along with the others and make a sightings place.

I see other NBs all the time in traffic where there is no opportunity to "track them down."

exactly my point, I've seen it on TDIClub where someone saw another TDI and mention it on the website and someone respond, yeah that was me I remember you too. I've seen plenty of NBs around here as well and would love to say, Hey I saw you, what's up?
So keep the votes and comments coming, maybe someone higher up will see it and say "hey, pretty good idea" lol anyways, cross your fingers

hey, pretty good idea.

I'll see if I can get Yung to implement something like this. I don't expect anyone will get alot of connections, but that's just me w/the half empty glass.

Well the other option is to create a thread in the "New Beetle Experience" section. We do this on the vortex. "ATL area sightings, sightings and more sightings" and so everyone in the area just posts to that one thread, but it could get cluttered if not taken care of properly. I think a secion broken down by state would be nice.

Exactly, if done by states that would be perfect just like our events are done on here.

More reason that a sightings thread would be awesome. We saw one in KY that was a two tone yellow/black, that driver has to belong here somewhere! lol If you love your beetle that much, it only seems right you're part of this family. Would be nice to be able to say I saw him/her on our way through their state.
