Tagged Beetles.
So I was thinking, "not everyone is Internet and forum savvy who owns a beetle", and what happens when they're tagged? They come to the main site, and to a not so "savvy" person, it's not obvious as what to do.
I think there should be a link (maybe bigger so it stands out) on the main page for tagged beetles. Ex: "Was your beetle 'tagged'? Click here!" and have a member registration form pop up. Maybe emphasis on "did anyone refer you on your tag?" Since we could be tagging any age group I thought it would be a little more convenient and an easy way to get more users to join.

I have to agree with you. Getting the "home page" makes a new user confused. Heck, it confuses me!
 I am not admin, so I hope someone who is can work on it. Good suggestion!

I agree, I know some of the people I've tagged will have trouble.
I had the worst time trying to get registered. I thought the verifier was confusing, I know that is kinda the idea.

I'm with Bugshop on this, the registration page is totally confusing. I use to be a system analyst and thought the video part was an add in the middle and it took me many time before I finally figured it out. I realize that even with good security we get spammers but to be tagged and then not be able to register is sad. This is one of the friendliest communities online that I participate in and I would love to see a flood of new folks to share with.
Kellyyysays has a great ideal if you are tagged it could bring you to a simplified registration page that captures who taqgged you. might be fun to see who is a "tag-a-maniac" my guess in SC is BugShop (Go Timmy Go)
