Default new beetle info archive

Im pretty sure many of you are familiar with thesamba.com
and there is one great feature on that site that would be very useful here. They are an archive section. It would be nice to have a place where new beetle info could be submitted and be posted up as a reference

this could include sections on:

dealer brochures
special editions
paint and upholstery colors by year with color codes
vehicle options available
vin number /engine #/ trans# and production dates
optional accessories and dealer upgrades available
model/trim levels designations per year

this would help prospective new beetle buyers, owners and those wanting to return a poorly cared for car to its former glory or add oem upgrades to their cars.

i would love to have this resource available at our fingertips

That's a HUGE Texas x1000 !

Anybody got the url for an admin or the webmaster. I had the webmaster, but lost it. Might be able to find an Admin.

Is there a "suggestion box" on this site?

I think a faq and archive would be great; I find http://www.vwvortex.com/ while not perfect, has much more "findable" usable info and great tech info in this regard. Good info, is always in allot of enthusiasts websites; searching these can be a exercise in frustration for many, its just that it needs to be organized... how and who will be willing to do it; is always a question and struggle for every website. If someone was willing and able to do this; the site would be a even greater resource and with more eyeballs\bits... worth more for the owner revenue with advertising. One thing is for sure; as these "new" beetles continue to get older; repair and troubleshooting is going to become more and more... a primary need for the new beetle owner; if this info that we have all gaining by owning these cars, was put in a organized and coherent fashion... it would really be great and increase its value. This also would reduce the number of questions that are asked over and over; as this info would be easy to find!

Also, take note; vwvortex.com already has a section for the latest 2012 beetle; this needs to be created on this website now! http://forums.vwvortex.com/forumdisp...309-The-Beetle New products come out and you need to change to meet the new needs of the market place.... this is just one example of things that should make this site relevant! Another website to look at is http://tdiclub.com/; it is chock full of great info! Probably has something to do with the nature of the buyer of tdi vw's but wow what a great site... owners and admins... please look at these for examples of great info and useful tech knowledge for the owner of vw's!

Only problem i find when searching for something on here or indeed other sites. Is the search engine that doesn't recognise more than one word.

So if your looking for: Problems with window. All you can search for is Window. Which throws up a zillion threads not in relation to what you are looking for.

As for a database of Bugs, i use the German site for that
