Sadly I think the new forum owners are asleep at the wheel. No one is listening, no one cares. Part of me thinks they may even be behind it.

I'm starting to believe the same. I sent the owners (not our resident admins) an e-mail over a month ago.... no response. I wish they gave a rats rump about a site/forum that we all take pride in. Man, I miss Jeff Croft.

If the spam posts are reported, we get the emails with a direct link to them.

If there are any today, that have not been addressed, please PM me with the username, and I will investigate.

Again, do not reply to a suspected spam post, ignore and click on the yellow triangle. If you reply, then not only the spam post will need to be deleted, but more work for us to clear yours too, to clean up spam within an existing thread. Thanks in advance!

I always report them. But the volume at which they are coming in is getting really ridiculous. This is the only site that I'm a part of that has this problem. Our local VW forum had a spammer last week, but that was the first time in a good year or more.

Why can't we put in a captcha or something for registration? Or make new users post in the "new members" section before posting everywhere else? There are a number of solutions out there...I just wish that we were being listened to.

Oh, we do discuss these suggestions. I am not sure of how it can be tweaked to have brand new members first post in the new member forum before they can post elsewhere, but on paper, it sounds good!

When a user is banned, so is the IP he is using. I can understand how your local forum will get a spammer here and there - this one is global. Spammers from all over can find it easily. Puts a pox our happy little corner of the web.

We, as moderators and admin, really want to keep the Org spam free, but even you can see, it's getting rediculious. We cannot all be here at all hours. But, we are trying.

I really do appreciate the deletion of the spam, and I'm not upset with you at all. I just don't think they should be getting in here like this in the first place. Its almost everyday. And it was never like this.

I know, some of you know about the auto bot spammers that little hard to get rid of as long the server have huge spam protection from inflicted with virus or anything that's related to money or clicking on the website that's not even existed in the first place.

Glad to hear that they are slowing disappearing.

None of the other forums I'm a part of have nearly the spam problem that we have here. And we didn't really have much of a spam problem until recently...

I'll get something done about the spammers. I'll see if I can get the techs to add more anti-spam plugins.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Cheers,
Cayne
