Referrals?

I see this when I click on a persons username, its below their post count. What is it and how does it work?

When someone signs up, they can type in the username of the person that "referred" then to NewBeetle.org. It's possible to then use referrals as a "bonus," giving people greater access or capabilities for a certain number of referrals. However, i don't intend to do this at NewBeetle.org.

So, it's the number of people that signed up because that person told them to -- but it doesn't really mean much in terms of that member's standing at NewBeetle.org.

kind of an add on to this, I think...feature wise at least, I know you can see how many referrals but I would love to see who, member wise, signed on using us as a referral. It would be great to say,"Hey, I remember them, I talked to them last week" and turn around and say "Welcome to the ORG, I remember talking to you last week, Thanks for Joining, hope you enjoy"...just a thought, unless there is a way and I'm not seeing it
