Default Recalls

Did a search and found a bunch of recalls, but didn't find a suggestion to have a permanent dedicated area for recalls on the new beetle.

And these RECALLS are just for 2004

Click HERE to see the below info

2004 Volkswagen
Series
» New Beetle Convertible GL 2.0L
» New Beetle Convertible GLS 1.8L
» New Beetle Convertible GLS 2.0L
» New Beetle GL 1.9L TDI
» New Beetle GL 2.0L
» New Beetle GLS 1.8L
» New Beetle GLS 1.9L TDI
» New Beetle GLS 2.0L
» New Beetle Turbo S 1.8L

NOTE : Keep in mind these 3 Recalls listed are for the 2004 models

But this is just an example Oh and don't forget the BIG recall of the 1998 models, the electrical harness problem

I did a quick search and found these, with ID #'s

324000 New Beetle Malfunctioning heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor U.S.A 1/2002

130000 New Beetle Fault in the braking system U.S.A3/2002

269151 New Beetle 1998 The brake lamp switch may malfunction U.S.A 7/2003

15.115 New Beetle 2004 The tire information label is incorrect U.S.A 12/2003

10100 New Beetle Electric cables may fry USA / Canada 5/1998

Also found this if you have a TDI Beetle

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE HIGH PRESSURE DIESEL PUMPS WERE PRODUCED WITH AN IMPROPER FASTENER, WHICH COULD ALLOW DIESEL FUEL TO ESCAPE FROM THE PUMP.
Consequence:
FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE MAY LEAD TO A FIRE.

Being as I just got my used '98 Bug, does that 1998 electrical harness (http://www.autobuyguide.com/1998/12-...lls/index.html) effect me at all? If I went to get it checked out and they found a problem, would I have to pay?

Scott, since it was a recall, they should be able to check if it was ever replaced, if it never was, then it should be no cost to you.

Has anyone had any "Engine Misfire Faults" P0300, P0301, P0300, P0303 on the 05 1.8T? I have had three issues in about one months time. The sevice writer at the local dealer said that VW already replaced a few cars becuse they have no fix for the problem... Somwhow the girl that told me this was fired on my third trip to the dealer for the same issue.... she also said it was only the convirtible.... does this sound plausable?
Help!!

Default tire recall for 06s

Everybody is complaining about 06 quality, then how come there has been only one recall for 06 and it's for improperly written tire sizes on the 17 inch tires?
