Lightbulb Internatinal New Beetle forum :)

Dear Founder and moderators,

First of all, I wrote private messages to the founder and 2 mod before but No reply in a week so I thought to write down here

As many of you know that I live in Istanbul,Turkey with a population of 70 Million in Turkey and 17Million in Istanbul.

I learned that about 150 NB in Turkey (Today) and we have a New-Beetle club name Beetlem*. I opened www.beetlem.com last year but couldn't give my time to site because of collage. In 2 weeks it will be up again. We are 15 members in beetlem.com (1 cabriolet, 14 coupe). I'm expecting to grow up very fast after opening the web-site.

My wish is to be a partner with newbeetle.org and A header under the International New Beetle Clubs.

*: beetlem means "my beetle" in Turkish.

Best Regards
Emre S. Caglar

Hi there and welcome!

Wow 17 million just in Istambul. It's one of the few really big cities I'd love to visit.

One thing, it's been posted here before the unofficial names given to the old vw beetle in many countries, usually a translation of "beetle" and sometimes not. For example, "fusca" in Brazil and "vocho" in Mexico.

What was/is the name for the old beetle, the air cooled one, in Turkey?
