I had hoped to get my car cleaned up this weekend and get my picture ready for the nametag. Not going to happen. The wind is incredible and its very cold. Maybe next weekend? This is killing me.

It just amazes me just how diverse our big state is. It's gonna be 83 here today.

For all I know it will be 83 here tomorrow. Probably won't be since the weather witchers are prognosticating it to be 52. Sounds warm but with a 50mph wind, it won't be. I seriously cannot see the big red and white barn about a mile from me right now. The air is choked with dirt.

The wind caught the corner of my hot tub cover and broke the strap. I put the hurricane straps on and the wind is still getting underneath the straps. I need to tighten one of them.

Nah, just went to "properties" for those threads and cut and pasted the URL's. I think the Org reworded them. So, no, no high tech for me

TOD drive was great last year, but I had fun touring the countryside too. The mountains are a special place for me anyway, cause I grew up going to the beach every year.

TOD last year marked only my second trip to the mountains ever!!!!!

So trust me a long drive around, on top of, next to, up, down the mountains will be fine with me!

Just think, no matter where we go as a big bug group, it's gonna be like a parade/spectical.!!!!!

Too right Sully! The TOD was my actual real visit in the Mountains. Val and I went to the Poconos for our honeymoon but those mountains are eclipsed to the splendor of the Carolina mountain region.

Okay, okay....Steve, you're rubbing off on me- i'm thinking your comment before you even post it...... Yeah Al, i'm sure that (Poconos)was a whole other kind of mountain top

you guys are crazy!!!!

For me the ToD was not my first trip to the mountains. Coming from Michigan to Georgia, and visiting home often, I've driven through the mountains several times. But ToD was SOOOO much more than just a scenic view. This was the BEST GtG I have had so far I think. I mean, no offense to other GtG's; because they were great in their own way, but something about ToD was special. For me it was my first REAL vacation ( I don't count trips to see family as vacation....sometimes it's more of a hassle than anything...especially when the boyfriend is meeting them for the first time), and I couldn't stop talking about it for WEEKS! Maybe months! I think I was amazed that so many of us drove to a destination, some from very far distances away...to meet up with like minded people....and drive some more! haha And last year, even though it was our 1st annual visit, we still had Swag, and while we were there we were talking about coming back in a year ALREADY! And what happened? Just a FEW months later, the Ridge Top was COMPLETELY booked for the May 1st weekend 2010, by JULY of 2009!!!! Just amazing! And now I see, even though the dragon might be closed (fingers crossed that it won't be), people are STILL driving distances to meet up and drive other places too. What a great group of folks we have here. I am so excited! ToD is definitely a MUST-GO GtG for any NB crazy folk...lol Man oh man....it's almost April folks......I feel a series of weather reports coming on.....I must go lie down....hopefully it's not a sickness...

Default Pizza fest update

Here we have it folks, the list of who is on board so far. Bear in mind there are only 4 days left till the 3/31/10 cutoff date. And that date is firm. No funds, no excuses, no pie.

Ray & Connie (connieray)
Antione De Hon (marvins_dad)
April & Gary (AprilM)
Pierre & Kristen (kbelle/locksmith)
Frank & Anne (d2beetle)
Cameron (cameron_talley)
David & Lynne (uwharry)
Diane, Marty & Molly sunshine (mardee)
Bob & Sue (Raff)
Mark (salsa_man)
John & Llona (sixchuter)
Jim (hilly)
William & Brenda (williamadamesq)
Tabitha (Harlequin Pixie)
Steve & Tamika (HwDoYuSlpAtNite)
Karen (karen1963)
Sue (hester_sue)

Also, there have been offers to help underwrite the cost of the fest for those non payers. I've decided that isn't going to happen despite me wanting it to be a whole group affair. My reasoning is that we're all adults, and fairly effective at communicating. For months the 3/31 date has been posted all over this thread, including the introductory page. That and Mark (salsa_man) pm'd those on the list inquiring about Friday night pizza with about a 50/50 reply. And I don't mean 50% yes, 50% no. It was about a 50% total non response.

When Mark PM'd those on the list, they would have already received an e-mail notification of that message. When received I would have assumed those who know attendees that are non Orgers would contact them with cut off date and response request. But feel free to e-mail those you know as well since time is of the essence. Any non payers who care to join in on Friday nights festivities are more than welcome to pick up their own pizzas and join us. Also beverages as stated on the 1st page are BYOB.
