I'm excited to see our numbers continue to grow. Even from the west coast..that's mighty cool! I can't wait!!!
This is the beauty of us planning so far ahead and especially making reservations. At the rate of things, we might occupy the entire Ridge Top and the parking lot as well

Michelle, remember that big building across the street from the motel? That is going to be the restaurant. That is going to be an awesome joint. The view of the mountains, oh man! sheer beauty.

Guys you all are going to love just the drive up to the Ridge Top!!

On the way back from Roswell we stopped at the Midway Cafe on 66. We noticed a guy that was working there had a Dragon shirt on so we asked. He has several Mini Coopers and drove the Dragon at a GTG this year. They had over 200 cars! So many they had to divide the drives into smaller groups.
The Miata's regularly have upwards to 100 cars.
They could've taken all 200+ cars at once. The Dragon is a public road. That would've looked sweet to see all 200 cars snaking around the Dragon.

Gang, the cool thing at the end of the Dragon is at the end @ Deals Gap. You see every kind of vehicle represented: Exotics, Classics, Bikes- Harleys, crotch rockets, T-Rex, etc. And everybody at the Gap pretty much has the same sentiment.... Let's do it again!! It's like kids at the end of an amusement park ride! And eveyone has this child-like grin plastered on their faces, with elated stories of their experience. Gang you are gonna love it. I can't thank Gary and Bob for getting this adventure in the works and making it part of New Beetle folklore!

Those are sweet" besides, when you see 50 to 100 Mustangs you go..."wow". 50 to 100 Mini Coopers..."holy cow! Sweet!" Any number of new beetles, you can't say anything. You have to stop and stare and find someone near by to slug!! haha j/k (kinda) Besides, people like it Roswell, why not in NC?
So true Michele

Hey Gary, I wonder how the folks at the Ridge Top would feel if the townspeople came up to check out the bugs Friday night? Too bad we didn't have another day. We could have a little bug show-off for the people. Maybe as time goes by and they're used to our presence.

As fun as it sounds, I'm going to have to be in the "no go" category. It's a 16 hour drive, each way from here to ToD, and that's a little too much even for me in the Beetle...

They could but is simply would not be safe. The Dragon can and does eat cars on a weekly basis. The guy with the MC told us about a kid that was bitchin the whole way up the mountain that folks ahead were too slow, apparently they had a down trip for the "adventurous" ones, kid wrapped a brand new top of the line MC around a tree at the bottom.

Big car groups split the runs into smaller groups for safety and the enjoyment of all.

Got cha

One thing that was decided last year, was what you just mentioned; splitting the adventurous drivers apart from the less adventurous. This we'll definitely do. Either way, it's gonna be a great time.

As adventurous as some might want to drive, we stress being safe. We don't want any beetles kissing any trees. Just wanted to throw that safety PSA out there
