I'm sure someone will want to cover us being there. I mean, last year it was neat seeing 12 NB's. But to see 30+!!! That's just crazy. I'm gonna start making some tags (unless Al has some already in mind) so I can start tagging NB's that I see. I want them to have plenty of time to plan for the ToD if they want to come as well
I can resize the artwork for you guys if y'all would like some ToD Tags. I'm pretty sure you could get some printed 4-up on a sheet at Office Depot/Staples fairly cheap. I'll get a jPeg file made up. Good idea Michelle I think i'll get some made for myself

No thanks on the spinach/artichoke pizza.

But everything else sounds good.

So per Michelle's excellent idea, I tweeked the flyer (see page1) a little bit and made some tags. The first image is the individual tag, the second one is the tag, 6-up on an 8.5x11 sheet. If you'd like some ToD tags, let me know and I can send you a jPeg file.

Hope you like em.

Thanks again for the idea

Not a bad idea, but I think that Hot VW's and VW Trends are aircooled based. I have a feeling tho, that the local paper will come up to the "Friday night at the Ridge Top" event

Hot VWs has all Dubs. Most of them just happen to be air-cooled but they have featured water-cooled, even New Beetles. In fact, they did a feature story on Roswell one year.

Hot VWs sounds like a cool magazine. Do many of you subscribe?
I've never seen it on the magazine racks.

I dont subscribe but I do pick them up all the time.... I have looked through alot of them I have and they do tend to fall to air-cooled but I think thats because thats mostly what kind of car shows and such. But they do enjoy alot of water-cooled also. I think it would be great if we could pull something of like this. If anyone is interested I would be happy to just SEE if they would be interested in it...hey you never know

I use to pick up VW Trends and Hot VW's when ever I saw one with a water cooled story.

As I mentioned in my post, they are aircooled based and don't consistently feature H2o cars. We did subscribe to both when we collected vintage airsuckers and a friend Bill Collins wrote a column for the east coast scene in the Trends.

I used to subscribe to Hot VWs but let the subscription lapse several years a go. They are a great magazine, though.

I doubt they would cover the TotD cruise, but they might print a blurb about it if we send one in...

Just think...if we would have never bought these cars, never searched the web for information about these cars....we would have never found each other. How crazy is that?!? Amazing what these little bugs can do.

I'm so ready for it to be May. I need me some R&R time with my beetle buddies! In 2 weeks I'll be getting my filler prior to the ToD. I don't think it'll last me til May but it'll do for now. I can't wait. Goodness...is it May yet?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

Michelle, I love the way you think! When I drive to work everyday, I see other NB drivers and they don't reciprocate when I smile or wave in their direction, and I think to myself...THERE WILL BE A LOT OF WAVING AND SMILING AT TOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God there are fun people in this world who get the New Beetle "thing"!

Friday night was to be a pizza fest at Anthony's Italian Restaurant in downtown Bryson City as we'd done for 2K09. Their pie is award winning and I can personally attest, it was fantastic stuff With the sheer number of people attending the 2K10 ToD, I'm afraid they won't be able to handle that many people. Hopefully we can get them to cater to the Ridge Top. I'll make that planning my mid winter project and will report back. Then we can go from there.

EXACTLY!!

On our drive back from Salt Lake City, we ended in a carrabug with 2 other beetles back into Vegas. There was a silver NB that kept riding Evilina's and wouldn't go around and then we picked up a yellow on the way into town. I'll be posting pics on Evilina's thread. Sadly they didn't wave but I did get a smile from the yellow NB owner when I let him pass to get a picture of the non planned carabug.

The excitment from our group is IMMENSE and the TOD 2K10 is gonna be HUGE! I just wish I had Org tags I could've thrown at the other Beetles.

You got that right

I like carabugging so much, we may drive 3 hours out of our way to hook up with Michelle, Al and others heading up from the Atlanta area

Well said Michelle

Last night, i reignited the TOD flames and went back to the TOD2k9 thread. The excitement of the days before the event were very palatable. I further went to the pic thread and now i'm all kinds of pumped up!!. Good thing we have the St. Augustine GTG to keep the excitement running hot

And uh..... Is it May yet???
