Tommy, maybe Marcia can check you in as luggage Would love to have you join us for a great new beetle weekend.
Sure, no problem , all Tommy needs to pay is the 2nd bag fee of EUR50 and the excess baggage (free allowance 23kg).

Btw Gary, if you haven't already heard. BJ (Beej) has asked me if I want to drive down one of her NB's. I've gladly accepted
So I will be coming down from the northeast iso the south

That's cool The folks coming from the northeast need to start a bugavan thread to the ToD if they haven't already. You not only get to drive an nB to the event but caravan too. Looks like your vacation plans are really shaping up

Still not sure if we'll head west to Atlanta to bugavan up with you guys or head straight up from Aiken. Heading to Atlanta would add 2+ hours to our trip but the bugavan might be worth the extra miles. I haven't heard from Sully despite a couple of voicemails as well as e-mails so if we do head up from Aiken, we'll be doing it solo

I ain't playin' around. If 2k10 flies like 2k9 did, The TOD 2k10 will be here next week

We got a sweet new camcorder for Christmas, and can video some of the rides and post them on youtube. Are there any youtube videos of the first TOD?

Man, watching those videos again.....sigh, is it April yet?! Seriously!

Al's got a good point, for those who have planned to go, get your ducks in a row ASAP! No joke, April will be here before we know and the dragon will be upon us once again. This is going to be a fantastic GTG! I can feel it in my bones already. Even Matt is excited to go, and I didn't even let him drive last time (haha, maybe I should this year huh?!)

I know my planning for the ToD has kinda....slacked and it's going to be a lot tougher this year due to finances, but that doesn't mean I'm not coming. If I have to sell my liver to get the money to go, I'll do it! (though I think you need your liver to live, so maybe a kidney then...)

Still working on some mods before the ToD. I want this experience to be the greatest. Remember folks, if we DO get HotVW to do an article...we probably should clean our kids up before pictures are taken. I'm going to make sure I bring some cleaning supplies, maybe a good wax just before we leave so that way the bugs won't stick so much.

I'm ready, lets do this! I'm pumped!

The excitement is building

I think one of the biggest "ducks" to get in a row is TIME OFF.

I see in many GTG threads, orgers making plans on attending a GTG, but they delay and delay and not put in their schedule request for time off. When waiting until the GTG is a few weeks away, even a month at times, it's at times too late- someone already put in for that time off, or the job can't accomodate their request due to late submissions. I'm sure this is common knowledge to many, but it still bears mentioning.

Of course the money factor is a biggie to- thankfully this is a low-dough event. But getting the days off is a big key.

I've contacted the folks at the official Tail of the Dragon website and requested they list our event on their calendar.
Hopefully the listing will appear shortly.

That' won't happen. We need you to come Casey! See if maybe you could take the test early.... Say you are going to visit a VERY sick relative who may not make it through the weekend so you need to be there, regardless of tests.....ok bit extreme, but you get the idea lol

For me this message is a couple of months too late. My vacation time was already cleared in September orso 3 weeks off for a 2 weeks stay.
After the TOD I will be visiting Washington DC (the borrow-NB needs to get back to his house ) since I'm in the area anyway, so why not have lunch with Obama, right? Then I want to take a plane to LAX to meet Aura and see Casey, Danny and possibly his wife again. After a week orso I have to try to get home again.

Well Casey, you can try what Michelle says, but you can always convince the people that you're going to see a foreign friend (if not many foreigners already crowd over Cali ) for the first time. You will of course leave out the information you will see this person the week after again. No need to tell them that
